How to Transform Your Life

The secret to change is to focus all your energy on building the new, not fighting the old.

I don't believe that you, me or any of us were put on this earth to merely exist. We were meant to thrive, to fulfill our purpose, and to become more. But, transformation doesn't happen by accident or pure luck. It requires that you do the work. You’re responsible for the changes that you make in your life. It all starts with shifting the way that you think. Your mind is that powerful!

Transforming your life can be scary and challenging, it often is, but it can also be exciting and rewarding. It's a process that starts and ends with you. When you transform, you do something that you could never have imagined yourself doing, become something you could never have imagined yourself becoming, and, ultimately, live a life greater than you could’ve ever imagined yourself living.

YOU have the power to transform your entire life around at any given moment. Change is a choice, but a lot of people don't want to do the hard work to get there. They hit a plateau, shift and never accomplish their goals they once had. They get overwhelmed by the magnitude of it all and forget that change begins with one single step. If you want to transform your life, you need to become the master of your own destiny, every small step of the way.

Transforming your life starts with making the commitment to change your beliefs and your behaviors, and it doesn't happen overnight. It isn't easy, or everyone would do it. It requires patience, discipline, motivation, confidence and an unwavering belief in your ability to create a better life for yourself; one that allows you to be in alignment with your purpose and your higher self.

Belief –

Your beliefs dictate how you operate in the world. Changing your beliefs or your mindset can change your entire life. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Wayne Dyer

Most of us often have a fixed mindset. You think you’re born a certain way and that you’re stuck with who you are. Then, you discover the world of self-development, and you realize that you’ve been telling yourself lies. You can grow and improve yourself, and you can become whoever you want to be. You can transform your life from average to amazing. But, in order to make this shift, you have to change your mindset.

One of the most effective ways to change your beliefs and your mindset is by adopting healthy habits that condition your mind for success. The best way to bring that change into your life is by creating new routines and sticking to them until they become habits. One healthy habit at a time.

Decide and Commit –

Once you've changed your mindset, you need to learn how to transform your life. The truth is that when you commit to something, everything changes. Learning how to commit isn't just about making a commitment. It's about keeping those commitments on a consistent basis. Being disciplined - and yes, anyone can make the choice to be disciplined. One of the main reasons why people don’t succeed in achieving their goals is because they lack discipline. These people are known as dabblers. They love the initial excitement that comes with starting something new. However, once things get difficult, they run the other way, because they aren’t fully committed to transforming their lives.

When you make the decision to no longer sit on the sidelines of life, you’ll rise up and transform yourself into the person that you desire to be. It requires persistence, commitment, passion, and hard work.

Take Action –

You can change your beliefs, but it doesn’t mean anything unless you take action. You could decide that you’re going to change your life, but never doing anything about it. This is called analysis paralysis. You can get overwhelmed with so much knowledge that you never end up making a decision or taking action. You can read all the videos and books that you want, but it's not until you decide to take action that change happens. Taking action looks like taking steps, large and small, to begin changing parts of your life. Committing to do one thing that you know will start to move you in the direction you want. Learning how to meet smaller goals that allow you to work through obstacles and to begin feeling better about what you’re doing.

Look at the bigger picture in your life, specifically so you can learn how to transform yourself and identify what you want in one year, five years and ten years. Long term thinking is huge!

This part is all about implementation!

Celebrate -

Every action you take will lead to a result, and when you achieve results, your life will transform. The key is to find small, achievable results that you can celebrate – and do just that. Celebrate every small step that gets done. That can look as simple as being proud and taking a moment to acknowledge what you’ve accomplished, and it can be as big as you want it to be. It’s up to you.

When you begin to focus on how to transform your life, you’ll need to look at these smaller achievements. It’s the beginning of transformation, but it starts the cycle that allows you to move into bigger accomplishments.

Be Consistent -

The only way to transform anything in your life is to show up consistently. You could have the best tools in the world for changing, but if you don’t stick with the process, the change won’t continue. Consistency is the difference between failure and success.

The reason why so many people struggle with being consistent is that they become overly obsessed with the outcome and forget about the process. I’m not saying that the outcome isn’t important – it is, but if you don’t have a process in place to guide you, you won’t be able to accomplish the outcomes that you’re striving for.

Transformation isn't a one-time experience. It’s a lifelong process. You need to learn to enjoy the journey towards becoming more. The journey to success isn't a straight line. There will be highs and lows, so it’s important to prepare to fail because it's a part of the process of growth. Create a plan of what you’re going to do when adversity comes your way. This will help you navigate your way through difficult times and will allow you to know how to transform your life on a deeper level.

Be Willing to Change –

Your life is defined by your beliefs about who you are. If you want to transform your life, you need to change your identity. Breaking out of an old identity often means breaking away from old, conditioned belief systems where your original identity was formed. Your inner critic feeds on negative self-concepts, which further inhibits your ability to challenge that self-concept and take action to transform your life. When you’re able to challenge the voices inside of your head that tell you that you aren't good enough, you cultivate self-compassion and reclaim your sense of who you are. It’s empowering.

Keep in mind that you can change your identity by getting results, but you have to sustain that momentum. You need to decide what kind of new identity that you want to have. Over time, once you start to actualize your identity, your behaviors will change, allowing you to successfully achieve your goals.

So, if you’re looking to transform your life, then it’s time to start implementing what you've learned. Never stop learning. Your success in life depends on it. This is how to transform into the person you want to be. Believe you can, decide what you’re going to do and commit to it. Take action and celebrate every small win and accomplishment and be consistent. Before you know it, you’ll take a look in the mirror, and you won’t even recognize yourself because you’ll be more than you could have ever imagined!!!!
